Pastoral Epistles' Bibliography

This page is the ONLINE BIBLILOGRAPHY for Dr. Perry L. Stepp's online class, BINT 541 Pauline Literature: The Pastoral Epistles.

BINT 541 is a graduate-level online class, in which students use the tools of Narrative Criticism to explore the New Testament letters of Titus, 1 Timothy, and 2 Timothy.

This bibliography is an ongoing, evolving project of the group. Resources that Dr. Stepp particularly recommends are double-starred (**) and in RED.

The bibliography is organized as follows:

PASTORAL EPISTLES RESOURCES:

  1. Commentaries on the Pastorals
  2. Graeco-Roman Backgrounds for understanding the Pastorals
  3. Pseudepigraphy and the (historical) authorship of the Pastorals
  4. Ecclesiology (Church and Church leadership) in the Pastorals

LITERARY / NARRATIVE CRITICISM RESOURCES:

  1. General Literary Criticism
  2. Biblical Literary Criticism
